A warm, grounded approach to healing

Hi, I'm Suzi — a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Salt Lake City, Utah. I believe that every person deserves a safe, non-judgmental space to explore their inner world, process difficult experiences, and move toward the life they truly want to live.

I work with children, teens, and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, and the everyday challenges that can feel overwhelming. My approach is warm, collaborative, and deeply personalized — because no two people's journeys look the same.

I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a powerful, evidence-based method for processing trauma and reducing emotional distress. I draw on a range of therapeutic modalities to find what works best for each person I work with.

Children & Teens

EMDR Therapy

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a highly effective, evidence-based therapy for healing from trauma, PTSD, and anxiety. It works by helping the brain process and integrate difficult memories so they no longer carry the same emotional weight.

EMDR is recognized by the World Health Organization and the American Psychological Association as a leading treatment for trauma. Many people experience significant relief in fewer sessions than traditional talk therapy.

Frequently Asked Questions

The first session is about getting to know you. We'll talk about what brought you to therapy, your history, and what you're hoping to work toward. There's no pressure to share more than you're comfortable with — we go at your pace. By the end, we'll begin to outline a plan that feels right for you.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) helps the brain process and integrate traumatic or distressing memories. During sessions, you'll briefly focus on a difficult memory while engaging in bilateral stimulation (such as guided eye movements or tapping). Over time, this reduces the emotional intensity of those memories so they no longer feel overwhelming. It's widely used for trauma, PTSD, and anxiety — and often works faster than traditional talk therapy.
Yes — I love working with younger clients. For children, therapy often looks different than adult sessions. We may use play, art, or structured activities to help them express and process their feelings in a natural way. Parents and guardians are an important part of the process. I'll meet with you first, and check in with you periodically throughout treatment to keep you informed and involved.
Yes. I offer secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth sessions for anyone located in Utah. Sessions are conducted through SimplePractice's telehealth platform and work just as well as in-person for most people. You'll need a private space, a reliable internet connection, and a device with a camera and microphone.
Yes. What you share in therapy is strictly confidential. I am bound by professional and legal obligations to protect your privacy under HIPAA. The only exceptions are those required by law — such as an imminent risk of harm to yourself or others, or suspected child abuse. I will review these limits with you clearly in our first session.
The length of therapy varies widely depending on your goals and individual needs. Some people find significant relief in 8–12 sessions; others benefit from longer-term support. We check in regularly on your progress and adjust the plan together. There's no set timeline — therapy ends when you feel ready.
I am currently a self-pay practice and do not bill insurance directly. However, I can provide a monthly superbill (itemized receipt) that you may submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement, depending on your plan. I accept credit/debit cards, HSA cards, and FSA cards.
